25 reasons to love SYTYCD
06.24.2011
Entertainment Weekly has just released their picks for the top 25 routines from So You Think You Can Dance. It is no secret that I am IN LOVE with this show. I even asked my husband when this season started if he thought it was too late for me to become a dancer. And yes, I was totally serious. Every season the talent just seems to get better and better and this season is no exception. Every week I am giddy with anticipation for the new show and watching I am riddled with chills at the raw talent of all the contestants. If you don’t watch, I urge you to give it a try. Because how do you know you don’t like something unless you try it?

SYTYCD, Season 7
07.01.2010
I know I have blogged about my childish obsession with So You Think You Can Dance before, but I can’t stress to you enough that if you are not watching this show, you totally should! I was a little skeptical of Season 7′s format when they announced they’d be pairing contestants with all-stars from previous seasons, but based on last night’s show, I’m sold on the concept. From beginning to end, the whole episode freaking ROCKED! Sure, there were a couple of so-so routines in the middle, but even the solos were impressive last night, which is typically just filler.
Below is a video of the last performance from last night’s episode, featuring all-star Twitch and contestant, Alex Wong. Alex began dancing at age 7 and left the Miami City Ballet to join SYTYCD so to say he is a good dancer might just be the greatest understatement of all time. This video is of a hip-hop routine, which initially, you expect Alex to tank on. The result is quite the opposite. Just watch.
The wait is over (almost).

It’s SYTYCD time! And for those of you not in the know – that’s So You Think You Can Dance – the dancing alter ego to the ever popular (and growing increasingly boring) American Idol. Sure, there are crazy annoying judges, but there are also rotating choreographers (who play guest judge) and the talent is unlike any I have ever seen before. This is a showcase of amazing abilities and if you’ve never seen it – now’s your chance! Season 5 starts this Thursday, May 21 (which just happens to be my birthday) and I am giddy with excitement.
I couldn’t ask for a better birthday present. Unless, of course, it was a big bag of money from a generous and anonymous donor…
**Spoiler: for those of you who are fans – word has it that both Shane Sparks AND Wade Robson are coming back this year! WooHoo!
Check out the contemporary dance from last season’s finalist’s, Katee & Joshua.
And here’s a nice little photo of Neil Haskell from Season 4. Pssst – Kelly Collins, this one’s for you!
