September is nearly half over (I’ll give you points if you can tell me how the HELL that happened) which means fall shows have already begun. I loooooove me some TV and tonight I am preparing for the official launch of what I like to refer to as ‘couch potato season’. For awhile I only had shows 2 or 3 nights a week but that seems to keep extending itself as the networks move shows around and revamp their programming.

Luckily I had SYTYCD to keep me entertained through part of the summer, but even that was a bit of a disappointment this year. Of course I watched every episode religiously (some even twice) but overall, I found Season 8 rather underwhelming. But as of today (yesterday actually if I was more on top of things) nights of boredom has come to an end.

Last night was all about The Vampire Diaries! Lots of people are dead, Caroline’s mom knows she’s a vampire, Stefan has gone to the dark side and if Elena knows what’s good for her, she’ll get her a big ole’ piece of Damon this year. It’s going to be a good great season!

For those of you with a TV addiction like mine, here is a lovely little cheat sheet (courtesy of the TV addict - how appropriate) to keep you up to date with all the September premiere dates. Thank God for DVR because my schedule just filled up. Here’s what I’ll be doing from now till Christmas.

Monday

  • 90210 (yes, I watch this show – don’t judge me)

Tuesday

  • Glee
  • New Girl
I watched the pilot for this last week on a tip from /Film and think it’s really cute! It’s a little predictable and sometimes beyond cheesy, but cute nonetheless. If you can’t wait until next Tuesday for the premiere, download it from iTunes (FOR FREE) and watch it now.

Wednesday

  • America’s Next Top Model (yes, I also still watch this show. I’m lame, I know. Next.)
But seriously, you should totally watch this season of ANTM! It’s an all-star season with all the bitches and weirdos from previous seasons and there is LOTS of drama. AND, next week (9/21) is makeover week and my stylist/salon worked on all the girls. She couldn’t tell me much about it before it airs, but that’s one episode I’m definitely watching real-time!
  • Criminal Minds

Thursday

Friday

  • Fringe
I am OVER THE MOON that this show has not been cancelled yet, despite last season’s move to Friday night, where all shows go to die. I was really confused at the end of last season so I have high hopes for this one as I also fear it might be the last. John Noble, the actor who plays Walter/Walternate is nothing short of spectacular and has gone nearly unnoticed for the life of the show. I’m excited just to see what they’ve got him doing.

As you can see, I’ve got some issues. But everyone can suck it because, truth be told, I am TOTALLY OK with my issues. I can honestly and openly say (arms open wide, head tipped back) I LOVE TV!

Who’s with me?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Entertainment Weekly has just released their picks for the top 25 routines from So You Think You Can Dance. It is no secret that I am IN LOVE with this show. I even asked my husband when this season started if he thought it was too late for me to become a dancer. And yes, I was totally serious. Every season the talent just seems to get better and better and this season is no exception. Every week I am giddy with anticipation for the new show and watching I am riddled with chills at the raw talent of all the contestants. If you don’t watch, I urge you to give it a try. Because how do you know you don’t like something unless you try it?

Wow, I think I may have sent my geek meter off the charts this week because the dorky posts just keep on coming. This is certainly no exception. However, I would like to plead my case by saying that other Glee fans with love this video just as much as I do.

Live to Dance

01.05.2011

I am not going to admit to watching this show but I did happen to catch 5 minutes of it last night while channel surfing. And the 5 minutes I watched, although adorable as seen below, made think 2 things:

  1. This show is awful. Like on the scale of America’s Got Talent awful. 5 minutes was all I could bear.
  2. I CANNOT WAIT for SYTYCD. Hurry back now, y’hear!

But on a side note, this might just be the cutest old couple on the planet! (Skip forward to about 1:07 to see the dance)

Normally I find celebrity product endorsements quite exhausting, but this one is downright adorable. It’s for Logitech Revue with Google TV and Kevin Bacon plays an obsessed fan of non other than – guess who…Kevin Bacon. The very end is the best part!

Entrada

12.01.2010

I am really sad that Fringe, hands down the best show on TV right now, has been moved to Friday. Everyone knows that Friday is where all shows go to die so its only a matter of time before Fringe bites the dust. But until that offically happens, its gonna be good. Really, really good!

Married to Rock

11.22.2010

Has anyone seen this show? OMG! I was channel surfing last night and came across this program showing one siliconed, bleach-blonde, on the floor, spread eagle, with another equally siliconed/blonde woman doing some kind of business BETWEEN HER LEGS. Wha??? Apparently I was getting free Playboy. So of course I had to continue watching…

Turns out Silicone #2 was making a mold of Silicone #1′s hoo-hoo – at Silicone #1′s request to make her life-size look-alike doll all that much “alike.” This train wreck of a program is called Married to Rock and is akin to Real Housewives, but with rock star hos wives. The show chronicles four women: Susan Holmes McKagan (wife of former Guns N’ Roses member and current Velvet Revolver bassist Duff McKagan), Etty Farrell (wife of Jane’s Addiction frontman, Perry Farrell), Josie Stevens (wife of Billy Idol guitarist, Steve Stevens) and AJ Celi (the not-quite-wife of the Cult guitarist, Billy Duffy).

I don’t know what else I can say about this show, my mind is literally blank while my mouth is agape. It’s fascinating. In a completely trashy, over-the-top, voyeuristic, privacy-robbing way that only reality TV can be. WATCH!

SYTYCD, Season 7

07.01.2010

I know I have blogged about my childish obsession with So You Think You Can Dance before, but I can’t stress to you enough that if you are not watching this show, you totally should! I was a little skeptical of Season 7′s format when they announced they’d be pairing contestants with all-stars from previous seasons, but based on last night’s show, I’m sold on the concept. From beginning to end, the whole episode freaking ROCKED! Sure, there were a couple of so-so routines in the middle, but even the solos were impressive last night, which is typically just filler.

Below is a video of the last performance from last night’s episode, featuring all-star Twitch and contestant, Alex Wong. Alex began dancing at age 7 and left the Miami City Ballet to join SYTYCD so to say he is a good dancer might just be the greatest understatement of all time. This video is of a hip-hop routine, which initially, you expect Alex to tank on. The result is quite the opposite. Just watch.

Pretty funny little video that would have cleared up a lot of things pretty easily.
