Coffee for 1, 2, or 10
08.18.2010

This table is what I consider to be the ultimate flexibility in furniture design. The REK Coffee Table by Reinier de Jong features sliding inner parts that allow you to create extra table space depending on the number and arrangement of guests. Quite genius in my opinion. Too bad its a European product and costs nearly as much as I’d get for donating a kidney.

Lazy Tony

How’s this for a take on the lazy Susan? The 360 Table is a grown-up Susan with a little Tony Hawk thrown in for good measure. Featuring trucks, wheels and a perfectly engineered round glass top, long gone are the days for asking people to “pass the salt.” Just spin the table around and get it your damn self!

Apparently I have poor time management.
01.05.2009
Clearly, I do not know how to manage my time. Hip-hop artist/rapper Pharrell Williams is now a furniture designer…in addition to producing songs with Madonna, designing a clothing line and dropping another album. Seriously? Where do these people find the time?

The “Perspective Chair” was designed in collaboration with Domeau & Peres and is quite a naughty little piece of furniture. Inspired by the love between a man and woman, the chair features female legs standing tip-toed in the front and male legs in the back. Use your imagination – just picture it.
As Pharrell says, “I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love, not lust for once. So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat… I decided to sketch out my own experiment; the perspective chair.”
Um, okay. Maybe he is a little strapped for time afterall.
