Red eye

09.29.2010

LOVE this! It’s a visual diary from illustrator, Chris Niemann, documenting a flight from New York to Berlin (with a layover in London). The image below is only the takeoff – wait till you see the rest of his flight!

Drywell

09.28.2010

Drywell is the home of Alyson Thomas, originally from Texas, now living in California. Formerly an attorney, Alyson basically just draws things that make her laugh. Lucky for me – they make me laugh too. She creates simple watercolor and & ink illustrations of food, butchery and Blocky – a disaffected yellow block. I came across Alyson’s work while searching Etsy for a birthday gift for my bacon-obsessed friend. Once again, lucky me. Thanks, Alyson!

Pillow talk

09.27.2010

Not that kind of pillow talk, silly. The pick me up, brighten your day kind. I think it might be kinda nice to curl up with some sofa pillows that have an endearing or uplifting message. If nothing else, they are a lot more fun than everyday solid color pillows!

Spink

09.24.2010

I don’t know about you, but where I work, a good majority of the people can often be found eating at their desk. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee. And I also don’t know about you, but I have been known to spill a few things on my desk from time to time. Water, coffee, tea, soda, oops. I even killed a keyboard from an accidental water spill. Big oops.

But thanks to Dreamfarm, the makers of Spink, my keyboard killing days are over. Spink simply sticks to the table and holds your drink so it can’t be knocked over. It’s made with a shock-resistant shell and a lever-powered suction cup to lock your drink in place. Problem solved. Disaster averted!

Elemental Threads

09.24.2010

Elemental Threads is the ultimate in unique accessories. What makes them so unique? Well, the fact that each bag is a one of a kind – designed by YOU. You choose the type of bag, fabric, lining and hardware and each bag is made to order by the eThreads team of seamsters. There are literally thousands of combination possibilities. These are perfect for anyone who wants something totally their own and would make perfect gifts for bridesmaids, sisters or a similar group of like-minded ladies!

And for those of you who perhaps, can’t decide with that many options to choose from, head on over to the eThreads Blog Shop where they’ve got ready-to-wear bags, jewelry, and hair accessories. Here are some examples of the things you can do with Elemental Threads (the first one is my choice for custom bag).

Clearly, I’ve got some catching up to do on this here blog. I still haven’t figured out what’s happening at my office, but even on my laptop, I can’t get in to my admin space. So much for trying to multi-task on my lunch hour…

But since we are officially in fall (seriously – when/how did that happen?), I figured let’s kick it off with a tasty fall recipe. And this is sure not to disappoint. It is a little bit labor intensive with quite a lengthy ingredient list, but I can assure you that you’ll be considered the world’s greatest host should you make this for a party. Holy-S does it look delicious or what?

The first thing I do when I get home after work is put on my pajamas. People make fun of me because I tell them the only way I can go out is if I don’t go home first…because I’ll put on my pajamas, and then it’s all over. I’m not going anywhere. So I simply must have this poster because it’s kind of my mantra.

Fill in the blank

09.20.2010

Usually reserved for tests given to school-age children, prepare yourself for a new kind of fill in the blank. With these Fill in the Blank Cards, you can say exactly what you want, when you want, and to whom you want! You can customize each card to your liking, AND, the inside has been left blank  – just in case you have more than one word to say… Doh!

Beer and bread…

09.17.2010

= 2 of my favorite things. So when I came across this in my reader this morning, I just about fell out! Did you know that a) Sam Adams has a Pumpkin Ale (among many other seasonal goodies) or b) that they also have a Pumpkin Bread to go along with it? Holy hell, neither did I!  But I tell you what – I have never wanted to eat beer and bread together so much as I do right now! Deeeeeelicious!
